A year after the Boston Marathon bombing, it was amazing to see survivors defiant and resilient more than ever. For most of the 36,000 runners this year, it wasn’t about competition at all, it was about unity and finishing together.

This year the 2014 Boston Marathon gained 9,000+ more runners than last year.

As the race started this year, the announcer shouted “Take back that finish line!”
