A year after the Boston Marathon bombing, it was amazing to see survivors defiant and resilient more than ever. For most of the 36,000 runners this year, it wasn’t about competition at all, it was about unity and finishing together.
This year the 2014 Boston Marathon gained 9,000+ more runners than last year.
As the race started this year, the announcer shouted “Take back that finish line!”
Meet Tony, a Tutor from Florida State University. Even though he’s no longer in school, Tony has been tutoring since college, and using Flashnotes for the past year.
Tony is a Tutor for FlashnotesBecoming a tutor is not an easy task, so we asked him how he got his start.
“I was a very shy person at first. One session lead to another and another and all the sudden I was a tutor. It was a tough decision to actually start tutoring, but once I made the decision, I never looked back”.
Tony has always put a lot of time into the creation of his study guides. “I would put 10 hours into the creation of them but I never actually studied from it. Just writing them- that’s all I needed to do”.
Tony would then help out his friends for free. Using his class’s Facebook group pages, he would offer up his comprehensive study guides. It wasn’t soon after that Tony’s friend suggested that he had a knack for teaching other students and he should start selling his study guides for money.
“I was selling study guides on Moolah Guides, but I saw someone post about Flashnotes on Facebook. She was talking about promotions and I was curious. Once I went to Flashnotes, I saw how organized and how easy it was. From a business standpoint, it was very easy to sell my study guides”.
