Independence a.k.a. 4th of July, is almost here! What are your plans to celebrate? If you haven’t made official plans yet, we’ve got some ideas for your to explore.
Check out some of the destinations the Flashnotes.com team had in mind:
- Your Local Beach - Spend the day and night at the beach this 4th of July with all of your friends and family! Be sure to head to a beach where you know there will be an amazing fireworks show later in the evening. With that being said, try getting to the beach early to get a good spot in the sand!
- A Nearby Park - Bring a bbq grill, drinks and some games for you and your friends. There’s nothing more relaxing than the smell of bbq and enjoying the sun with your friends.
- South Beach Miami, Florida - Near or far, South Beach should be a destination no matter what. South Beach is an awesome gathering place to meet all the twenty something year olds.
- Jersey Shore, New Jersey - Before the show (The Jersey Shore), it was just another place where family and friends went all their lives. It’s a great place to enjoy the beach, if you can, definitely visit.
- Venice Beach, California - A.k.a. Venice of America, Venice continues to be the center of LA culture. Not only is there a beach, but it’s an area with a ton of history. If you head out to Venice Beach, make sure you check out the man made canals developed by Abbot Kinney, they’re pretty stellar.
- Virginia Beach, Virginia - Home to Richard Henry Lee, who proposed the resolution of independence, why not spend your 4th of July in a traditional atmosphere?
- Block Party - You’re bound to know someone who is having a block party so you might as well join in on all the fun. Even if you or your friends are new on the block, it’s a great way to start meeting people.
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - What better place to go on July 4th than in the city where the country was born? The Philly festivities run from 5-11 p.m. and include a parade through the historic city center and a concert on the Parkway.
- Boston, Massachusetts - Boston may be infamous for the whole tea party aspect of the American Revolution, but this city celebrates 4th of July with a whole different kind of bang. The fireworks takes place over the Charles River and then there’s the Boston Pops who provides a live musical accompaniment by a pyrotechnic show.
- New York City - When you hear “Macy’s” and “New York,” you might automatically think about the Thanksgiving parade, but did you know Macy’s sponsors the city’s July 4th celebrations? The fireworks show takes place over the Hudson River, and there’s plenty space on the West Side of the river from which to get a good view.
