Study groups can be extremely beneficial to everyone in the group, simply for the fact that it’s a group effort in trying to understand and utilize the material. However, in order for a study group to be successful and effective, meeting in the right place is a vital aspect of study group meet ups. So where do you go?
An empty lecture hall. Massive lecture hall rooms have to be empty at some point, so why not utilize such an awesome space? Finding a large, empty lecture hall for your study group can use can be extremely easy.
The graduate school library. Everyone knows the library where all the undergrads go and those tend to be packed because everyone has the same idea in mind when they need to cram for an exam. If your school has a graduate program, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you have a few enormous libraries on campus that you have access to. Check out the law library, medical school library, or business school library.
An empty classroom. Consider meeting in an empty classroom. These rooms are smaller than a lecture hall and you can use the quiet space to discuss the content and even use things like the dry erase board as you study.
The empty dining hall. We know you’re probably thinking that the dining halls will most definitely be swamped with students but that’s only during lunch and dinner. Any other time, they can be surprisingly empty. The perk to meeting here is obviously having access to drinks and snacks whenever you want!
A quiet outdoor spot. If it’s nice outside, checkout an unused sports fields, garden and other areas where you can meet, study, and enjoy some fresh air.
